Day 1 – Athens Airport – Osios Loukas Monastery – Delphi

Arrival at Athens Airport and departure toward the Peloponnese to begin your adventure. The journey starts with long drive to Helikon mountain passing through incredible landscapes to the Gulf of Corinth. Descend down a winding road to the sea, where we stop for a swim. Visit Osios Lukas monastery, one of Greece’s most impressive Byzantine monuments, surrounded by peaceful mountain landscapes and rich history. Continue via Desfina toward the legendary destination of Delphi,

Overnight: Delphi

Day 2 – Delphi – Korykeion Andron – Oiti National Park – Sperchios River – Evritania

Short drive to Delphi. Guided visit to UNESCO World Heritage archaeological site and museum. Delphi city considered by the ancients Greeks to be the center of the world and a religious center. Continue toward Korykeion Andron (Cave), the mythical cave associated with the worship for Pan, the god of the wild, as well as the Corycian nymphs. We drive to traditional settlement of Vargiani for a short coffee stop and to Pira. The route gradually becomes more adventurous as we enter the rugged terrain of Oiti National Park.

Drive through forest roads, mountain passages, and hidden natural routes while enjoying panoramic views over untouched landscapes. Continue alongside the beautiful Sperchios River before entering the wild and authentic region of Evritania and finally we arrive to Koryschades village.

Highlight of the day: Delphi site, Korykeion Andron mythology, Mountain exploration and scenic off-road driving

Day 3 – Crossing Kalakouda Mountain – Panta Vrechi Waterfalls – Prousos Monastery

Today is dedicated to pure adventure. Cross the impressive slopes of Kalakouda Mountain using exciting off-road routes that reveal some of Greece’s most untouched natural scenery.

Reach the spectacular Panta Vrechi waterfalls and enjoy approximately one hour of river hiking through crystal-clear water, small natural pools, and lush surroundings. Continue toward the historic Prousos Monastery, dramatically built into the mountainside and offering breathtaking views and a peaceful atmosphere. Continue to Black cave (short walk) and to Megalo Chorio for coffee, return to hotel. OPTIONAL in the evening drive to a nearby village and have dinner at a local tavern with live bouzouki music.

Highlight of the day: Mountain safari experience, River hiking at Panta Vrechi and Prousos monastery.

Overnight: Koryschades Village

Day 4 – Kremaston Lake – Agrafiotis River – Agrafa Vilagge – Plastyras Lake – Meteora

Begin the day exploring the mysterious Black Cave area before continuing through remote mountain roads toward Megalo Chorio, one of Evritania’s most charming traditional villages.

The adventure continues to Kalambaka and Meteora through the amazing Agrafa Path landscapes. Drive to Viniani and Fragista, where we admire the scenery of the Kremaston lake. Continue driving parallel to Agrafiotis river on dirt road, surrounded by fir trees and steep slopes at the mountain edge we end up to Agrafa village with its plane trees and fountains with cold water. An authentic mountain settlement famous for its untouched character and local traditions.

Driving from the rugged Agrafa mountains through Lake Plastira to the striking cliffs of Kalambaka – Meteora requires traversing Central Greece’s most dramatic alpine roads. We stop at various points to admire the Plastyras lake (roughly at 800m high) scenery with its many islands. Continue descending from the mountains towards the Thessalian plain we end at the foot of the giant rock formations, Meteora.

Overnight: Kastraki village.

Day 5 – Meteora – Pelion – Portaria

Leave the mountain lakes behind and travel toward the world-famous landscape of Meteora. Admire the extraordinary monasteries standing high above giant rock formations and experience one of Greece’s most iconic cultural and natural wonders, containing historical and religious treasures.

Continue toward Pelion, the mythical mountain of the Centaurs, and arrive in the elegant village of Portaria. Walk through its stone alleys and enjoy the atmosphere of this beautiful mountain destination. Walk in the mythical path (3km) of Centaurus (half-man, half horse) with amazing views of the forest and the small waterfalls.

Highlight of the day: Meteora’s breathtaking scenery and Pelion’s mountain charm

Overnight: Portaria, Pelion

Day 6 – Zagora – Tsagarada – Milies – Volos – Departure

On the final day, discover the enchanting villages of Pelion. Drive to Chania and getting dirt / asphalt roads we cross central Pelion descending to the villages of the Aegean Sea we reach Zagora and Chorefto. We visit Tsagarada with its famous plane trees and panoramic sea views, then continue to Milies, known for its traditional architecture and rich local character.

Descend toward the coastal city of Volos where we have a rest and buy the local spirit tsipouro. Enjoy your final moments by the sea before we start our long driving (4,5hrs) back to Athens airport. Cars drop off and get your flight taking home unforgettable memories from this unique Safari 4×4 adventure through Evritania and Pelion.
