The 5th century, the famous Golden Age of Pericles, was the time of its ultimate bloom, when moral values and civilization surpassed city limits and became the cradle of western civilization.
Sifnos is a small island in the Cyclades island group with beautiful beaches, white Cycladic villages, low-impact tourism and the best food in Greece, it is the Mecca of Greek cuisine! Sifnos is also known for its traditional pottery and there are many small pottery workshops in villages.

Day 1: Athens arrival – Athens sightseeing tour (_,_,D)
Upon arrival at Athens Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Athens. Rest of day is free on your own to explore this romantic city. In the early evening escorted walk to Plaka, Athens old town and Monastiraki area. Dinner at a Greek tavern with shish kebab and souvlaki dishes.
2nd day: Walking Athens city tour with Acropolis and museum (B,L,_)
After breakfast meet our guide at the hotel. Athens guided walking city tour, Sroll through Constitution Square (Syntagma), the House of Parliament, the Memorial to the Unknown Soldier and the National Library. Continue on to watching the Evzones in their picturesque uniform and the Presidential Palace. Before ascend to the Acropolis, you will tour the Hadrian’s Arch, the Temple of Olympian Zeus and the Panathenaic Stadium where is famed for holding the first modern Olympic Games in 1896. Then explore the Acropolis, the architectural masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens, 5th Century BC, Propylaea, Temple of Athena Nike, Erechtheion, and finally Parthenon, a place any civilized person has to visit. We complete the visit with the Museum of Acropolis. OPTIONAL Dinner at a local tavern with Greek dishes, wine and folklore show.
3rd day: Relax day in Athens. (B,_,_)
Free day in Athens to discover the amazing neighborhoods of Athens. Athens is a highly walkable city, with a lot of hidden gems. Use our GTN Athens sightseeing guide (available in our web site), what to see – where to walk and explore Athens on your own. In the evening walk to Monastiraki and Psiri area and have a drink at one of the numerus bars of the area with Acropolis view.
4th day: Sifnos Island (B,_,_)
Early morning transfer to Piraeus and get the ferry to Sifnos island (2 hrs). Upon arrival transfer to hotel at Platis Gialos. Rest of day at your leisure. Enjoy the sea and the sun.
5th day: Sifnos island – Cooking lesson (B,_,D)
Sifnos is considered one of the most culinary friendly destinations in Greece. It is the Mecca of Greek culinary. Morning free to enjoy the beach. Then transfer to Apollonia, the capital of island, a Mykonos style town, and walk around for a while before join-in the Greek food lesson in a nearby local farm. The cooking program includes five different traditional recipes of Sifnos, walk through the farm and attend of pottery workshop. Finally you enjoy your cooking with plenty of local wine before return to your hotel.
6th day: Departure
Morning transfer to the port for your ferry to Piraeus. Arrival to Piraeus and transfer to Athens airport for your flight to your next destination.
