Argolis was the foremost seat of power of the Mycenaeans that dominated Greece from around 1500 to 1200 BC. Traces of this mighty civilization lie scattered across the region with the most important to be the Homeric Mycenae with the cyclopean walls, the ancient open theater of Epidaurus, renowned for its unique acoustics and the ancient Tiryns. Also here is the first capital of Greece in its modern history, the beautiful Nafplio.

The beautiful island of Hydra which has inspired many artists such as Picasso and Sagale, N.Gkikas, L.Cohen. You can explore the island on foot or by the island’s traditional “vehicle” – the saddled donkey
Poros island, the smallest of the three, separated from the Peloponnese by a narrow strait. You’ll have time at leisure in Poros to stroll around the small picturesque streets of the island’s town
Aegina island, famous for its pistachio produce. You can take an optional bus tour to the Temple of Afea which is the best preserved temple in Greece. It is also one of the 3 temples forming the famous “Sacred Triangle” of Greek antiquity.

Day 1: Athens arrival – Athens sightseeing tour (_,_,D)
Arrive to Athens airport, meet our staff and welcome. Athens guided city tour, Constitution Square (Syntagma), the House of Parliament, the Memorial to the Unknown Soldier and the National Library. Continue on to watching the Evzones in their picturesque uniform and the Presidential Palace. Before ascend to the Acropolis, you will tour the Hadrian’s Arch, the Temple of Olympian Zeus and the Panathenaic Stadium where is famed for holding the first modern Olympic Games in 1896. Transfer to hotel. In the evening escorted walk to Plaka, Monastiraki area, Athens old town and have dinner at a tavern with souvlaki and shish kebab dishes.
Day 2: Three island cruise. Poros – Aigina- Hydra (B,L,D)
Morning transfer to Piraeus port. Embark on boat for a full day cruise to 3 picturesque islands Aegina, Poros and Hydra, with lunch and show on board. Return to Piraeus. Dinner at Microlimano at a tavern next the small yacht harbor. In the evening walk to Monastiraki Psiri and have a drink at one of the numerus bars of the area with Acropolis view.
Day 3: Excursion to Corinth canal – Epidaurus ancient Theater – Mycenae – Nafplio (B,_,_)
Morning drive to Peloponnese. On the way short stop at Corinth canal. Guided visit to ancient open theater of Epidaurus (4th century B.C.), famous for its acoustic system . Then visit to beautiful Nafplio, the first capital of Greece in its modern history. Continue to Mycenae (1300 B.C.), home place of King Agamemnon, leader of Greeks in the Trojan war to see the Lion’s Gate, Tomb of Agamemnon and Palace, We continue to Nemea for a visit to a winery for a unique tasting of local wines paired with local delicacies to fully enjoy the flavors. Day 4: Acropolis guided visit – Departure (B,_,_) (B,_,_)
Morning Acropolis guided visit to explore the architectural masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens, 5th Century BC, Propylaea, Temple of Athena Nike, Erechtheion, and finally Parthenon, a place any civilized person has to visit. We complete the visit with the new Museum of Acropolis. Free time at Monastiraki flea market for last minute shopping and transfer to Athens airport for your departure.

If we extent the first day’s tour to include Acropolis visit, then on 4th day morning we can have an Athens walking food tour.
